Treant Trouble
A downloadable game for Windows
As the last of the forest elves, your duty is to become a protector of the forest with which you dwelled.
Your main duties involve keeping the path safe for travelers and maintaining the magical ecosystem. Though the years have not been kind, you've remained steadfast and true. But the forest you once guarded has become overrun with wild, pesky treants.
Despite having your powerful light spells to aid you, why are there still so many of them?!

This is my third submission for Intro to Game Programming. The theme of this game was a top down, and we had the option of creating a shmup and/or a dungeon crawler.
I made a shmup and chose to keep it isolated to one room, spawning waves of enemies that the player can take out. I'm not going to lie -- I struggled with this assignment. Overall, I'm happy with the outcome! If I have time to revisit this project, I would want to revamp the game feel and make the shooting mechanics feel more satisfying and rewarding (maybe through adding more juice via particle effects).
For now, here's the final (hopefully) bug-free build.
